We took a different route to the to of the mountain today - less stairs (which made me happy). On our hike I saw pineapple plants, papaya and banana trees and tea plants. On the way down we stopped at the miaoyu (a temple) and joined the group doing their exercises. It was more like a cross between stretches and yoga. Everyone was in perfect lines. I'm sure we were quite a sight because everyone was looking at us.
We road the high speed train to Taipei. We saw what we could of Taipei in about 6 hours - National Palace Museum, Taipei 101 (tallest building in the world) and Peace Memorial.
On the way back we learned that there was an party for us and our host families. One hard thing about this experience is that you always have to be happy and have no control over your schedule. I would have preferred to come back and sleep or at least not sitting around for over 1 hour after the party broke up for someone to give us a ride home. It was rough to put a smile on my face especially since I did not understand most of what is going on around me.

Ah ha -- I beat Alisha in posting a comment to today's blog entry. With all your hiking (even if steps are involved) I am the jealous one this time. Keep up the smiling. Miss me the mostest. (See - you are smiling.)
