If I lived in Taiwan I'd have no clients.

This morning we all split up to attend meetings with people in our professions. I was able to spend 3 hours in a large law firm. It was great to have 4 attorneys, all English speakers, in one room to talk with me about how things work here. I have learned that I basically would not have a job here. As far as I can tell there is no court supervision on probate and no need for an attorney, the people don't write wills because they are superstitious that if they do they will die right away and businesses are formed by accountants. I was able to get information on the gift and estate taxes, business formation laws and estate succession rules.

We spent the afternoon at another university. They are known for their horticulture department. We visited their garden (it was surprisingly small and uneventful). Then we had a Tia Che lesson. Unfortunately they had not told us that we were going to do Tia Che so Kim and I were in skirts because we had to give a presentation tonight. So we could not get the full on experience.

One presentation to go. I must admit that I am getting tired of the presentation - we say the same things over and over. I can tell you everyones comments or jokes before they come out and I am sure that they could do the same for my part.

Tomorrow we are going to visit the courthouse and jail. I guess they had to pull some major strings to get us in. Some members of our group put up a big stink that they have to attend. This really ticked me off - here I have gone on all of their professional visits and not said one word (multiple professional visits for one of them - 3 hospitals so far). ARGHHHH! I must admit that I have made some close friends on this trip with the team members but I am looking forward to just being able to go home at night and have some time to myself.

I am giving up on trying to get pcitures uploaded until I get home. It is too hard to try and figure it out without access to English directories and directions.

Tell them all to stop being such dorks! Sheesh...they can go to the jail and courthouse and stop complaining. Do I need to fly over there and kicks some bums? I am very excited you only have one more presentation to go! That means you are heading home soon, then to see me! HOORAY! I look forward to the next blog. I also look forward to seeing about one million photos when I see you.
